Kamal Haasan is arguably the finest actor of Indian cinema. He is not just an actor but also an amazing director producer screenwriter choreographer and a politician. He has been associated with nearly 300 movies in various capacities. Movies like Chachi 420 Ek Duuje Ke Liye Sadma Dashavatar Indian Pushpak prove his versatility. Coming to his personal life he got married at the age of 24 to an Indian classical dancer Vani Ganapathy. She also worked with Haasan in 1975 movie Melnaattu Marumagal. She used to help him with the costumes for several movies. Then after being married for 10 years they decided to quit their marriage. In a 2015 interview Haasan had claimed that his ex-wife Vani left him on the verge of bankruptcy. It was only after his heart wrenching allegations about her that she decided to break her silence on their divorce. When Vani Ganapathy opened up about Kamal Haasans accusations The dancer first said she always refrained from talking in public about the private affair. But she did it when it became overwhelming. She told Deccan Chronicle “For 28 years we have been divorced I have always refrained from mudslinging because it’s a very private affair… but we have both moved on now. Why does he behave like a man obsessed?” Vani further claimed she never wanted it to make ugly by going out in public but it was Haasan who started it. “He even refused to give me used appliances from the flat we shared. What could I expect from a man like that?” She slammed the superstar for saying the alimony led him to bankruptcy. Vani said “In what court in the world has alimony been allowed to drive someone to bankruptcy? I was completely shocked when I read it. His ego must have been hurt when I walked out of the marriage but so much has happened since. He could have said financial crisis and let the subject pass.” The professional dancer mentioned in the same interview that Kamal knows how to fake his smile and charm and this is not a big deal for him to do. “He doesn’t answer a question if he doesn’t want to. Kamal knows better than anyone how to fake a smile and charm his way out of a situation” Vani added.
