Among the many discoveries that let to the making of big actors come Johnny Lever and Sunidhi Chauhan. Johnny Lever is one of the most talented and loved comedy artists in the history of Indian cinema. On the other hand Sunidhi Chauhan has been ruling the hearts for years with her versatility as a singer. Happenstance they were reportedly discovered by the late veteran actress Tabassum. Johnny Lever Used to Sell Paan Johnny Lever has never been hesitant in recounting the struggling days he was subjected to as a child. He had a alcoholic father and owing to financial issues he had to dropout of school after class 7th. Hence he resorted to doing odd jobs like selling paan to earn some money. Right form his school days he was good at mimicking people. Once while performing on street he amused late actress Tabassums manager. And thats how ended up doing her show Tabassum Hit Parade troupe. Owing to his talent the actress offered him Tum Par Hum Qurban that became his big break. Sunidhi Chauhan First Sang on Stage as a Child Sunidhi Chauhan knew Tabassum as a three-year-old kid. The actresss son Hoshang once revealed in an interview that Sunidhi was insistent on Tabassum to listen to her singing and even followed her to the washroom during an event. Finally when Tabassum asked her to sing she was mesmerised by her talent. Next she introduced Chauhan to music composer Kalyanji and Anandji and the rest is history. Tabassum had been a radio jockey and child actor prior to her stint as the beloved talk show anchor that we remember her as. She also served as the editor of a women’s magazine named ‘Grihalaxmi’ and directed a film in her illustrious career. Tabassum finally found the success she long aspired for with the launching of her talk show Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshan on Doordarshan in 1972. It was touted as the first talk show in the history of Indian Television.
