RTI activist Neeraj Rajoria had filed an RTI and asked how much revenue the government gets from PVC Aadhar cards, in response to which the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) said that between 01.04.2024 to 28.02.2025, a total of 1,20,29,756 PVC Aadhar cards have been issued, from which the government has received revenue of Rs 60,14,87,800.

The government has not given the data for each year, but based on this data, it can be said that in the last five years, the government has earned more than Rs 300 crore from PVC Aadhaar cards alone. The RTI activist has demanded the government make PVC Aadhaar cards free of cost. Apart from this, he has also demanded the opening of more Aadhaar centers.
