The firm has also made the decision to build new drinking water pipes beside the sewage system in order to solve the problem of polluted drinking water and sewer overflow. The long-term goal of this two-pronged effort is to address drainage and water pollution issues in these regions.

The Jal Nigam has been instructed by Mayor Ashok Kumar Tiwari to complete the Detailed Project Report (DPR) by April 22. To provide better access to clean drinking water, directives have also been given to start the water delivery from new overhead tanks by April 5.

On Wednesday, representatives from Jal Nigam and the Municipal Corporation conducted a review meeting at the Varanasi Smart City office to address important urban issues such as road maintenance, encroachment removal, water supply, infrastructure, and cleanliness.

Important Instructions Issued:

-Street Repairs and Lighting: To improve road safety and urban aesthetics, immediate street repairs and street lighting upgrades will be given first priority.

-Encroachment Removal: To reduce traffic, illegal stores under the Manduadih flyover will be taken down and replaced with a parking area.

-Beautification Drive: To improve the city’s green cover, areas including Chaukaghat, Central Jail, Kachheri, and Police Line will be beautified and tree-planted.

-Lajpat Nagar Infrastructure Survey: To quickly identify and address any current infrastructure problems, a thorough examination of the city’s roadways, sewage system, water supply, and lighting will be carried out.

A number of additional projects were announced in addition to the infrastructural upgrades. To combat the increasing monkey danger in the city, a monkey control effort will be started, enlisting the help of an expert organization.

To combat the summer heat, water coolers will be erected in Lanka, Assi, Godaulia, and Dashashwamedh Ghat. Dustbins will be positioned at tea shops to enhance waste management, and trash collection trucks will be equipped with GPS monitoring to guarantee increased effectiveness.
