Vivek Chaand Sehgal an entrepreneur of Indian heritage has built a business empire. Sehgal began with a small monthly income of just Rs 2500. Today he is the richest Indian in Australia with a net worth of Rs 40967 crore according to Forbes. His company is Samvardhana Motherson International (SAMIL) with a market valuation of Rs 80199 crore.
Sehgal graduated from Delhi University co-founded Motherson Group with his mother in 1975. Initially he focused on the silver trade. Over the decades the company started working in the automobile and aerospace industries and became a global supplier of automotive components.
SAMIL
SAMIL is the primary driver of Sehgal’s wealth. The company supplies critical components to some of the worlds biggest car manufacturers including BMW Ford Mercedes Toyota and Volkswagen. His son Laksh Vaman Sehgal plays a crucial role in the company as a director.
Aerospace Business
Motherson Group has also made a big place into the aerospace sector. The company is a Tier 1 supplier for Airbus Commercial Aircraft. Its subsidiary CIM Tools India has won a long-term contract with Airbus producing components at Motherson’s specialized aerospace facility in Bengaluru India.
Under Vivek Sehgal’s leadership Motherson Group has expanded its reach diversified its business in multiple industries.
