On the death of Meena Kumari Nargis wrote an open letter which was published in an Urdu magazine. It read Maut Mubarak ho Meena Meena today your sister congratulates you on your death and tells you never to set foot in this world again. This place is not for people like you. Meena Kumari and Kamal Amrohi acclaimed director fell in love and got married but the actress stardom and the director could never love her. So it turned out to be a painful relationship due to a lack of emotions. So much so that Nargis had to intervene and ask Kamal Amrohis helper to stop using the actress for his financial gain as she was suffering so much! Meanwhile a shocking incident drove Meena Kumari out of her husbands house but she was then high on alcohol which led to her being hospitalised. However after a misunderstanding Dharmendra walked out of Meena Kumaris life and slowly she started moving toward death. For the unversed Meena Kumari died on March 31 1972 at the age of 38 after battling liver cirrhosis.
