Homebase has announced seven brand new openings across the UK this month as it continues its rollout of "exclusive" centres.
The has already opened more than 100 inside superstores and has confirmed 10 more will follow this month. The new openings come after the retailer collapsed into administration in November last year, blaming a decline in consumer confidence and spending post-pandemic.
Homebase later saved around 70 of its stores and 1,600 jobs after striking a deal with retail group CDS - which owns The Range - while B&Q also agreed to take control of five branches. The former Homebase sites in Altrincham, Basingstoke, Biggleswade, Leamington Spa and Worcester are due to be converted into B&Q stores this spring.
Four former Homebase stores are also set to be transformed into Wickes after the home improvement brand acquired the leases for sites in Dunfermline, Bury St Edmunds, Leeds Moor Allerton and Northampton. These stores will reopen later this year under the Wickes brand, serving catchment areas that don't currently benefit from a store.
But despite a wave of closures, Homebase isn't disappearing for good as shoppers can now visit its new garden centres inside The Range superstores, as well as shop the brand online at Homebase.co.uk.
Homebase has now confirmed that 10 more 'Garden Centres by Homebase' are due to open later this month and it's new 'Kitchens by Homebase' showroom has also opened its doors in Maidenhead.
Announcing the news in a Facebook post, Homebase said: "EXCITING NEWS - TWO New 'Garden Centres by Homebase' have arrived!
