Fans of are in for a treat as it's been confirmed that Elisabeth Moss will play a significant role in the spin-off series, The Testaments.
The sequel, set 15 years after the events of The Handmaid's Tale, is based on Margaret Atwood's book of the same name.
While it was previously announced that Ann Dowd would be returning to her role as Aunt Lydia as one of the narrators, Hulu has now revealed that Elisabeth Moss will also serve as an executive producer on the show.
This isn't Moss's first time working behind the scenes, having directed several episodes of The Handmaid's Tale. The release date for The Testaments is yet to be announced, but filming for the eagerly awaited sequel is set to commence from April 7.
The spin-off will introduce a new generation of young women living in dystopian Gilead, with the story being narrated by three women: Agnes, Daisy and Aunt Lydia, reports
The show's description reads: "For these young women, growing up in Gilead is all they have ever known, having no tangible memories of the outside world prior to their indoctrination into this life.
"Facing the prospect of being married off and living a life of servitude, they will be forced to search for allies, both new and old, to help in their fight for freedom and the life they deserve."
Joining Ann Dowd in the cast are confirmed actors Rowan Blanchard, Mattea Conforti, Mabel Li, Amy Seimetz and Brad Alexander.

A synopsis reads: "This final chapter of June's journey highlights the importance of hope, courage, solidarity, and resilience in the pursuit of justice and freedom."
