The way to start the first night Khomcha Market in Delhi has opened. Applications have also been sought for this. If everything goes well, this market will start in the back of Salimgarh Fort near the Red Fort in the next few months. In this, the famous street tracks of Delhi who sell delicious food recipes will be able to sell their khomche here. However, at the same time, people will be able to put khomche here, which the corporation will approve. For this, those already registered Khomche will have to apply to the corporation.
In this, around 50 street vendors will be allowed to sell their own items. Deputy Commissioner of City SP Zone Vandana Rao said that we have invited applications. We can submit applications with paper in our office by April 11. He told that we are trying to choose 50 such people who sell their chant-dumplings etc. with cleanliness. Therefore, we will also be trimmed by the applications that we will also come. He informed that as the night Khomcha Market Pilot Project will be allowed to be installed from 6 pm to 10 pm.
City SP Zone Deputy Commissioner Vandana Rao said that the location of the parking of vehicles is also being decided behind the Salimgarh Fort. Also, a mobile toilet will also be arranged here. Along with this, arrangements are also being made to keep the lighting arrangements right at night. He informed that the fees and user charge for cleanliness will be charged from the vendors who will be allowed to be on track. During the G20 summit, the MCD had planned to start a market for street vendors here. The purpose of which is to empower the street vendors.
The special thing is that if this historical site is behind the Red Fort, then people can also come here in large numbers. According to corporation officials, the project is currently as a pilot project. If it is successful, then a plan will be planned to open such a market in other places as well.
