Synopsis

India's export taxes rise due to reciprocal levies, but competitors face higher tariffs. Exemptions may apply for copper, pharmaceuticals, and semiconductors amid existing tariffs on steel, aluminium, and autos.

The reciprocal levies lift the total tax on India’s exports sharply. This may not pinch much as India’s competitors face even higher effective tax on their shipments to the US.
