has been urged to follow three simple steps to alleviate any damage caused by the latest backlash followingThe Duchess of Sussex stars in which premiered last month and features Meghan's pals in each of the episodes while she shows them .
With Love, Meghan received mixed reviews from fans and was blasted by many critics. However, it managed to climb into Netfilx's global Top 10 list and got renewed for a second season, which will be released sometime this autumn. saw the duchess getting criticised after claims emerged that producers had to dub the eight-part series to make it seem that the Duchess was asking her guests questions because she was too occupied talking about her own.
Now a PR expert has suggested that despite the recent backlash, the duchess can salvage the public's perception of her with three easy steps.
Edward Coram James, CEO and co-founder of marketing agency , said: "The brand image she's trying to curate may be quite different from the brand image we've come to know.
"If she's trying to stick to the public's current, mainly negative perception of her, the discussions surrounding this focus on herself are aligned with the image she's built to date. But if she's aiming more for a genuine, hospitable, other-orientated, laid-back royal-next-door, she's missed the mark completely."
He added: "The controversy surrounding Meghan's show highlights the importance of brand representation that's genuine. However, a damaged personal brand is not irreparable."
The expert proceeded to explain each step the duchess has to take - acknowledging the disconnect, reframing the narrative and focusing on action, not just image.
He said: "Addressing audience concerns directly and transparently. If Meghan were to embrace a more self-aware stance and acknowledge past branding missteps, she could begin shifting public perception more favourably.
"Instead of allowing the media to dictate the conversation, Meghan could take control by offering genuinely engaging, well-thought-out content that reflects a more grounded and sincere approach. No copying from previous shows.
"Authenticity isn't just about how you present yourself - it's about proving it through action. If Meghan genuinely wants to be seen as warm and hospitable, her future projects should better demonstrate those qualities through charitable work, meaningful and relatable storytelling (maybe not set in a million-pound mansion), and engaging her audience with content that is both original and useful."
