UPPSC: A major change has been made in the process of assistant recruitment in 171 government colleges of Uttar Pradesh. In the recruitment test of 562 assistant professors of the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission, detailed answer questions will now be asked instead of multiple choice questions. Its marks will be added to the final result. Earlier, multiple-choice questions were asked in the screening test to shortlist the candidates. After this, the final selection was made based on marks obtained in the interview.

The proposal for this change has been sent by the commission to the Higher Education Department, Lucknow. The Higher Education Department had sought the opinion of the Directorate of Higher Education on this. According to sources, the Directorate of Higher Education has approved this amendment. Now just waiting for the permission of the government. After this, the advertisement for the recruitment of an Assistant Professor will come soon.

More importance to written examination

The purpose of asking detailed answer questions in the screening test for assistant recruitment is to test the candidate's grip and understanding of the subjects. Also, after this change, the weightage of the written examination will increase as compared to the interview. According to the report, now the merit list will be prepared by combining 75% of marks from the screening test and 25% of marks from the interview, and the final selection will be done on that basis.

Assistant professors will be recruited for 23 subjects.

The Directorate of Higher Education has sent an online requisition of 562 vacant posts in 23 subjects to the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission. In which Commerce has the highest number of 65 posts. Apart from this, there are 47 vacancies for English, 43 for Sociology, 41 each for Chemistry and Hindi.
