Mumbai: Veteran Indian actor and filmmaker Manoj Kumar, renowned for his patriotic films and the moniker ‘Bharat Kumar,’ passed away at the age of 87 at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on Friday. Medical reports revealed that he succumbed to cardiogenic shock caused by acute myocardial infarction, a severe heart attack. Additionally, he had been battling decompensated liver cirrhosis in recent months, which further deteriorated his health, reported news agency . Kumar was admitted to the hospital on February 21, 2025, after his condition worsened. Despite medical efforts, his health continued to decline, leading to his passing at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Andheri.Born as Harikrishna Giri Goswami on July 24, 1937, Manoj Kumar became a notable figure in Hindi cinema, particularly for his films that celebrated nationalism.
