The demand for electric cars in India is now increasing rapidly. Till a few years ago, only selected and expensive electric cars were seen in the market, but now the time has changed. Now the best cars have come in a low budget. Recently, the British Automotive brand MG Motor launched Windsor EV in September 2024, which has now become quite popular in a short time. The company said that in the month of March in the Indian market, its sales have increased by 9 percent on a annual basis.
The big thing is that the company has sold only 85 percent electric cars. During this time, the company's Windsor EV was purchased the most, which made it India's best selling electric car in March. In the last 6 months, Windser has also surpassed Tata Nexon EV, which has been the country's best -selling electric car in the last few years.
Today, the new fledgling Windsor EV and electric car segment will be seen in the price, range and running cost of Nexon Ev, which ruled for many years.
MG Windsor EV is available in three models. The SUV is available at an initial price of Rs 9.99 lakh, while the battery subscription is priced at Rs 3.5 per km. On the other hand, the price of Tata Nexon EV is between Rs 12.49 lakh to Rs 16.29 lakh (ex-showroom). Given the difference of ex-showroom cost, the owner of an MG Windsor EV can drive the price of his car 53,879 km before it is equal to Entry-Level Tata Nexon EV, which is seen as a breakeven point.
MG Windsor EV has come with a 38 KWh battery pack, which can also be purchased under the subscription plan. This battery gives 134 bhp peak power and 200 Nm torque. EV can run up to 331 kilometers once charged. On the other hand, Tata Nexon EV is available in two different battery pack options. The medium range variant has a 30 kW battery pack, while the large range variant comes with a 40.5 kwh battery pack. The MR variant comes with a range of up to 275 km and a speed of 0-100 kmph in 9.2 seconds, while the LR variant comes up to 390 km range and variants with a speed of 0-100 kmph in 8.9 seconds. Windsor EV's running cost charging and rental service, including 4.64 per kilometer, comes to the running cost charging of Nexon EV only 1.1 to 1.2 per km.
