Raja Chaudhary , who previously portrayed Dimdima in the 2020 edition of Tenali Rama , is making a return to the ongoing season, albeit in a new avatar. This time, he will be seen as Chaudapa Raya , a king from the Keladi region. Raja shares, “It’s been over four years since I was last part of Tenali Rama. I am excited to be part of the show again. It’s always great to reunite with such a welcoming team. I look forward to having another amazing stint on the show.”

Tenali Rama made its return with a new season in December, with Krishna Bharadwaj and Priyamvada Kant reprising their roles as Tenali and Sharada. Aditya Redij has taken over from Manav Gohil to portray the new Maharaja Krishnadevaraya. When asked about returning to TV as Tenali Rama, Krishna had previously shared, “I feel fortunate, especially since male actors don’t often get much to do on TV. But Tenali Rama gives me a real opportunity to showcase my talent.”

When asked if he felt the character had overshadowed his identity as an actor, he said, “At times, it does bother me. I played a completely different role in Dhruv Tara , but it failed to make an impact on the ratings chart. Once an actor becomes strongly associated with a particular character, it’s tough for the audience to accept them in a different role. That’s exactly what I’m facing — I’ve yet to break out of the Tenali Rama image. After the show’s first edition ended, I thought that once my hair grew back, people would stop associating me with the role. But that didn’t happen. The image of Tenali Rama is so deeply ingrained in people’s minds that breaking free from it has been challenging.”

The actor also mentioned his desire to explore the OTT space, saying, “Web series are rooted in realism, and I want to be part of that. I crave that as an actor. It will help me grow.”
