Emergency responders have dashed to Newtownards Airport in after a plane crash. Two people were reportedly "rescued", but the passengers in were not hurt. Police say the incident involved a small aircraft.
A Police Service of Northern Ireland spokesperson said: "Police received report of a collision involving a light aircraft on the runway at Newtownards Airport shortly after 1pm this afternoon, Friday April 4. Emergency services attended and no injuries were reported."
The plane appeared to have left the runway, the Belfast Telegraph is reported. It added that airport fire appliances and the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service are at the scene.
A person from the Ulster Flying Club, whose home base is the airfield, told the Express over the phone that they "can't comment at this time".
