Tom Hardy's latest venture into television has taken the world by storm, with his new series becoming an instant hit after just one episode.

The show made its debut last Sunday on Paramount+ and has already clinched the title of the streaming platform's most successful launch to date.

An impressive 2.2 million viewers globally tuned in to catch the Hollywood heavyweight in action, alongside a dazzling all-star ensemble.

Crime drama aficionados are in for a treat with MobLand, which has quickly established itself as a must-watch sensation.

Helmed by executive producer and director Guy Ritchie, with scripts from Top Boy creator Ronan Bennett, this 10-part series is poised to be one of the standout new shows of 2025.

It has outperformed other Paramount+ favourites, including the Yellowstone prequel 1923 and Taylor Sheridan's latest offering, Landman.

MobLand sees James Bond alum Pierce Brosnan and 1923's Helen Mirren as the Harrigans, who lead one of London's most formidable crime syndicates.

As they face encroachment from a competing gang, they enlist the help of fixer Harry Da Souza (played by Hardy) to safeguard their empire.

Paramount Co-CEO and President Chris McCarthy lauded the show's phenomenal performance: "MOBLAND is a runaway success thanks to the visionary work of Guy, Jez [Butterworth, writer], Ronan and David Glasser and brought to life by the exceptional Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren who transport us into a world audiences clearly cannot get enough of.

"MOBLAND is yet another proof point for the power of our differentiated model - fewer, bigger, breakthrough series that can cut through the clutter and also builds on our 2024 record success where we finished as the #2 SVOD for original series time spent viewing."

The drama boasts an impressive ensemble cast, featuring notable talents from esteemed television productions, including Paddy Considine from House of the Dragon, Joanne Froggatt from Downton Abbey, and Janet McTeer from Ozark.

MobLand has garnered widespread acclaim from television enthusiasts, who concur that it showcases Snatch director Ritchie's unwavering expertise, while Hardy delivers a standout performance.

A glowing five-star Google review reads: "This is simply superb. Guy Ritchie is in epic form with his newest release.

"A gritty British gangster series with a strong (if not predictable) plot. Outstanding performances from an outstanding cast."

The reviewer further asserts: "This is likely one of [Pierce Brosnan's] best performances in the last 20 years - the character he plays maybe permitting him a more age-appropriate and realistic chance to show his skills.

"Excellent performances from everyone else - particular mention to Froggatt and Mirren.

"This series is setting out to be unparalleled and I'm greatly looking forward to watching the story unfold - even if the process of getting there may be somewhat tried and tested."

MobLand continues Sundays on Paramount+.
