In an NBA regular season game, Turkish international all-star player Alperen Sengun helped the Houston Rockets secure a 125-111 win against the Oklahoma City Thunder, who lead the Western Conference.
Alperen Sengun was instrumental in the Rockets’ success, scoring 31 points, grabbing two rebounds, and adding four assists along with three steals. His standout performance was crucial in overcoming the Thunder, despite their strong position in the conference.
Jalen Green also contributed significantly with 34 points, four rebounds and five assists. Amen Thompson added 16 points, eight rebounds, and six assists, while Fred VanVleet finished with 13 points and six assists.
For the Thunder, Jalen Williams scored 33 points, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win. Only four Thunder players reached double digits in scoring.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, typically a star for the team, had a quieter night with 22 points and eight assists. Chet Holmgren scored 20 points, and Isaiah Hartenstein added 16.
The Rockets came out strong, leading 69-53 at halftime, and maintained their advantage throughout the second half, winning 125-111.
This victory brings their season total to 51 wins, keeping them in second place in the Western Conference.
After the game, Alperen Sengun shared how his family’s support motivates him.
“How does it feel when your family comes from Turkiye to watch you play? Does it inspire you?” asked the reporter.
With this win, the Rockets ended the Thunder’s 11-game winning streak and strengthened their position as they headed toward the playoffs.
