In the 18th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Punjab Kings (PBKS) hosted Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Mullanpur. The home team was given a target of 206. PBKS struggled early and could not recover from the pressure created by RR bowlers. Despite a fighting partnership between Glenn Maxwell and Nehal Wadhera, they fell short of the target by 50 runs.
However, an unusual moment occurred on the final ball of the match. It appeared that RR had only three fielders inside the circle on the off-side, with none on the leg-side, making it a possible no-ball. pointed it out to the umpires. However, after a lengthy check, the umpires ruled it legal. The wait for the umpire's decision lasted quite a long time that Sanju Samson decided to sit down cross-legged on the field itself.
The outcome, however, did not affect the result where RR won the match convincingly, gaining two points in the end and taking the seventh spot on the points table.
