In a major setbackf for Zomato its Chief Operating Officer (COO) Rinshul Chandra has resigned from the company. Chandra considered a close-aide of Zomato founder and CEO Deepinder Goyal said he was stepping down as the COO of the online food delivery giant to pursue new opportunities and passions. It has been an incredibly fulfilling journey over the past seven years and I am truly grateful for the trust support and opportunities Ive received during my time here. I wish our world-class teams at Eternal the very best Rinshul Chandra wrote in his resignation letter according to an exchange filing on Saturday. As per the filing April 7 2025 (Monday) will mark Rinshul Chandras last working day at Zomato. Zomato is now Eternal Notably Zomato Ltd recently approved its name change to Eternal to mark its expanding business portfolio. In February Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal told shareholders that name change would only apply to the company not the brand or the mobile app itself. According to reports Zomatos four core verticals -- its flagship food delivery service quick-commerce platform Blinkit B2B supplies business Hyperpure and its dining-out platform District-- will now be included under the Eternal umbrella. The name change is reportedly set to come into effect on April 9 2025. About Zomato Zomato a multinational restaurant aggregator and food delivery company was co-founded by its current CEO Deepinder Goyal and Pankaj Chaddah in 2008 and has since grown into the leading online food-delivery platform in the country with a market cap of Rs 2.78 lakh crore. Over the years Zomato has expanded its presence to other countries through strategic acquisitions such as Cibando in Italy and Gastronauci in Poland.. In 2022 Zomato ventured into the quick-commerce platform space by acquiring Blinkit previously known as Grofers to take on its competitors Swiggys Instamart Zepto among others. Apart from a successful foray in the the quick-commerce sector Zomato also operates HyperPure a B2B platform which sells spices fruits vegetables and dairy products to hotels restaurants and caterers.
