The revenue of the country's major dairy brand Amul is expected to increase by more than 10 percent in this financial year to about one lakh crore rupees due to the increasing consumer demand for milk and its products. Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Association Limited (GCMMF) sells dairy products under the 'Amul' brand. Its 18 district cooperative milk producers unions sell themselves in local district markets.
GCMMF Managing Director Jayen Mehta said that the total revenue of the Amul brand is expected to reach Rs 1 lakh crore in FY 2025-26 as compared to about Rs 90,000 crore in the financial year 2024-25. Mehta hoped to increase demand, saying, "In GCMMF, we are targeting to reach Rs 75,000 crore with an increase of 14 percent in the current financial year."
He also predicted a trading of about Rs 25,000 crore in this financial year by direct marketing of Amul products by 18 member organizations of GCMMF. In this way, the total revenue of Amul brand will be Rs 1 lakh crore in the current financial year.
Mehta said that in the last financial year, GCMMF recorded an increase of 11 percent in its revenue, which was mainly increased to Rs 65,911 crore due to increase in volume in all categories. In FY 2023-24, GCMMF was traded around Rs 59,250 crore. He said, 'GCMMF recorded an increase in double digits in all product categories.'
GCMMF is the world's largest farmer-owned dairy cooperative institution, which has 36 lakh farmer members in 18,600 villages of Gujarat and its 18 member organizations buy 350 lakh liters of milk per day.
