On the occasion of the BJP’s foundation day, Uddhav Thackeray, chief of the Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray (UBT) faction of the Shiv Sena, launched a scathing attack on the ruling party, accusing it of hypocrisy, communal politics, and betrayal of public trust.

Speaking at an event organized by the Shiv Sena’s communication wing, Thackeray questioned the timing and significance of the BJP’s foundation day celebrations. “If Ram Navami is to be considered the BJP’s foundation day, then its leaders must strive to emulate Lord Ram — who stood for truth, justice, and righteousness. But is the foundation day being celebrated as per tradition, or just as per the convenience of BJP leaders?” he asked.

Thackeray also took aim at the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance over unfulfilled election promises, specifically mentioning the "Ladki Bahin" scheme. “They had promised to raise the assistance amount to ₹2,100 per month. Now, it’s time to remind them of the old saying — ‘Pran jaye par vachan na jaye’. It is now clear that Mahayuti leaders misled people to win the elections. They are not worthy of even taking Lord Ram's name,” he added.

Thackeray further raised concerns about the BJP’s alleged misuse of Waqf Board lands and other religious properties. “Instead of focusing on governance, the BJP is busy allocating Waqf Board land to their friends. Christian committee lands, Gurudwara lands, Jain, and even Hindu religious properties are being handed over to friends of the ruling party. They have no real concern for any community — their only agenda is benefiting their inner circle,” he alleged.

He cited an article in The Organiser, a publication associated with the RSS, claiming it revealed the BJP’s hidden agenda to appropriate religious land from various communities, including Christians, Buddhists, and Hindus.

“The BJP is attempting to divide society along religious lines, incite riots, misuse police forces, slap cases on opponents, and meanwhile distribute key land assets to their close associates. We strongly oppose such tactics,” Thackeray stated, warning that such policies would have dangerous consequences for national unity.

He warned that the BJP is “poisoning the minds of the public with fanatic ideologies” and that if not stopped, it would result in long-term damage to the country’s social fabric. “We must keep such people away from power for the sake of the nation’s future,” he said.

Thackeray also commented on the ongoing controversy involving Maharashtra Agriculture Minister Manikrao Kokate, who has come under fire for making derogatory statements about farmers, asking them, “You people avail loans and don’t pay for five years. What do you do with the loan waiver money?”

Thackeray reminded the public that Kokate himself is under a cloud of allegations. “This is a man who narrowly escaped disqualification after a surprise verdict saved his membership and ministerial post. He has been accused of fraud, and though found guilty, has not been punished. Such individuals have no right to question the integrity of farmers,” he said.

UBT MP Sanjay Raut also criticised the BJP, saying, “The BJP was born after us. The original Shiv Sena is much senior to the BJP.”

Rane Hits Back at Uddhav

In response to Thackeray’s criticism, BJP leader and MP Narayan Rane lashed out, accusing Uddhav of indulging only in obstructionism and abuse. “Uddhav Thackeray’s only job is to hurl abuses and block good work. He has no interest in development or public welfare. His party won’t even survive until the next election,” Rane said.

He further added, “I worked with the Shiv Sena for 39 years. When Balasaheb Thackeray was alive, the party had strength and character. But now that he is no more, the real Shiv Sena has died too.”
