New Delhi: Every year, we observe World Health Day on the 7th of April to raise global awareness about major health issues. World Health Day marks the anniversary of the global organisation, the World Health Organisation (WHO), which was founded in 1948. This day encourages us to take action to improve global well-being.

World Health Day is celebrated every year to honour the work done by the WHO. Every year, the WHO comes up with a new theme and campaign focusing on different health issues. This year’s campaign for World Health Day is ‘Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures.’

The theme will focus on maternal and newborn health. It urges governments and the health community to put in more effort to end preventable maternal and newborn deaths. WHO hopes that through this year’s campaign, they can prioritise women’s long-term health and well-being.
