Prayagraj. A very painful and sensational news has come out from Prayagraj district of UP. Inspector Tarun Kumar Pandey posted in Varanasi Crime Branch committed suicide by shooting himself with his licensed rifle on Sunday evening. This incident happened in Myorabad area of Prayagraj, where his private residence is located.
Tarun Kumar Pandey, originally from Nawabganj in Gonda district, was living alone in his own house in New Myorabad under Colonelganj police station in Prayagraj. According to the police, the reason for the suicide is not clear at the moment, but in the initial investigation, health problems are being considered the reason.
Tarun Kumar Pandey was on leave from duty for the last few months. His daughter Anshu got married on 1st March this year in Lucknow. After this, his wife Poonam went to live in Bangalore with son Ishaan. Tarun was living alone in New Myorabad, Prayagraj. It is being told that he was suspended for the last 6 months and was also on medical leave for 4 months. About 3 months ago, he had a major operation on his spine in Delhi, after which he was continuously ill.
On Sunday evening around 5 o'clock, people in the vicinity heard a loud sound, which sounded like a gunshot. When people reached Tarun Kumar's house, he was found lying in a blood-soaked condition in the room with a licensed rifle. Everyone was stunned to see this. People immediately informed the police. The police reached the spot, searched the house and took the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem.
According to Prayagraj Police, preliminary investigation has revealed that Inspector Tarun Kumar was suffering from some serious illness. He was very upset due to mental stress and poor health. However, the police is investigating all the aspects thoroughly and the situation will be completely clear only on the basis of the post-mortem report and the statements of the family members.
As soon as the police got information about the incident, they informed the family of the deceased. The entire police department is in mourning due to this news. Inspector Tarun Kumar was known as a disciplined, honest and hardworking officer. His sudden death has shocked everyone.
During investigation, the police found out that Inspector Tarun Pandey had sent his driver Sunil Yadav on leave 15 days ago, saying that he was going to Delhi for treatment. After that he went to Delhi. He returned from Delhi to Prayagraj a day earlier on Saturday. At present, the police team is engaged in investigating the case. It is also being investigated whether there was any family, mental, or professional pressure behind the suicide. The police will take further action on the basis of Tarun Kumar's call details, documents found in the house and statements of the family.
