In the glittering world of Bollywood having a legendary surname can often come with a lot of responsibility. While a lot of outsiders would talk about the perks of being a nepo kid whether it is really a blessing or curse can only be subjective. For one such actor who was carrying the lineage that came with his surname became an added pressure that in fact made him believe that his world had collapsed. The actor we are talking about his none other than Mimoh Chakraborty son of veteran superstar Mithun Chakraborty. Mimoh stepped into the film industry with dreams of making it big. But when his debut film Jimmy released in 2008 and bombed at the box office his world turned upside down as the reality was quite far from what he thought would be true. Recalling in an interview Minmoh talks about the high hopes he had while watching the teaser of Jimmy in the theatre with his family. “The crowd’s initial silence followed by cheers and whistles made him believe he had made it. “At that moment I felt like a star. I was only 24–25 years old and thought I had arrived” he shared. However what followed after that left him shattered and reclusive for almost a year. the film didnt strike a chord with the audience and people who once rallied around him vanished people stopped calling cheques bounced.  “It felt like my world had collapsed” he said. “I was blank. My mind had stopped working. I didn’t step out of the house for a year.” The aftermath of Jimmy wasnt easy for Mimoh. Even though he worked in films like Haunted 3D Loot and Rocky unfortunately none of them could give him the level of eyeballs he expected however recently he appeared in the Netflix web series Khakee: The Bengal Chapter signaling a sign of comeback. Despite the setbacks Mimoh confided in this big star of Bollywood- Salman Khan who didnt leave his hand during his tough time. He revealed that during the shoot of Sultan Salman called his mother and asked her to send Mimoh to the set. “He spent the entire day with me and asked the assistant director ‘You think this is tough? At least you have the opportunity. Some don’t even get that chance’” Mimoh recalled. Salman even advised Mimoh’s father to play the teaser of Jimmy alongside Mithun’s film Partner in theatres which turned out to be his idea. Sohail Khan also came up with the title Jimmy. Mimoh credits Salman for standing by him like an elder brother saying “He told me that the right opportunities would come at the right time and that he’d always support me.” Mimohs story also shows that it is during your rainy days you realise the people who really have your back.
