Tragic Death of Deepak Kumar

Deepak's autopsy confirmed strangulation as the cause of death. Following a complaint from his brother Piyush alias Mukul, authorities have charged his wife Shivani and an unidentified individual with murder.
Details of the Incident

Deepak Kumar, a 29-year-old technical staff member at Najibabad railway station in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, was reportedly killed by his wife. After the incident, Shivani attempted to pass it off as a heart attack, taking him to a doctor. However, the autopsy revealed the truth: it was a homicide. The police have since detained Shivani and are exploring the motives behind the crime, including the possibility of an affair.

Background of the Couple

Deepak, originally from Mukrandpur village, married Shivani on January 17, 2024. The couple had been living in a rented accommodation in Najibabad.

Events Leading to the Discovery

On a Friday afternoon, Shivani contacted her mother-in-law and brother-in-law, claiming Deepak had suffered a heart attack and transported him to a private hospital. However, he was declared dead upon arrival at Bijnor hospital.

Post-Mortem Revelations

Initially, Shivani resisted a post-mortem, but family members insisted due to visible marks on Deepak's neck. The autopsy confirmed strangulation as the cause of death, prompting Piyush to file a murder complaint against Shivani and an unknown accomplice.

Police Investigation

Investigating officers, including CO Nitesh Pratap Singh, have interrogated Shivani, who initially misled them but later confessed to the murder. The police are currently trying to identify any accomplices involved in the crime.

Family Dynamics and Allegations

Deepak's family has reported that Shivani had a history of conflict with her in-laws, including physical altercations. Following ongoing disputes, Deepak had moved with Shivani to Najibabad just two weeks prior to his death. They had a one-year-old son named Vedant, and there are allegations that Shivani may have conspired with someone to murder Deepak for financial gain.

Circumstances of the Murder

According to police reports, Deepak was strangled with a rope while eating. Evidence of food was found lodged in his throat during the autopsy.

Confession and Ongoing Investigation

Shivani has admitted to the murder but is inconsistent about the identity of any accomplices. Initially naming a young man, he denied any involvement when questioned by the police. Authorities are working to uncover the identity of any additional suspects.
