Pakistan, April 7: Two police officers were suspended for filming the children of Pakistan Army officers and politicians after a massive rave party was raided in Pakistan's Kasur. As per reports, a rave party was recently held at a farmhouse in Kasur. The police raided the location and found 55 young people partying illegally. The 55 youngsters consisted of 30 boys and 25 girls. The group was taken to the Mustafabad Police Station for questioning.
A video of the raid was shared on the internet and the video is doing rounds on social media. It can be seen in the video that the youngsters are lined up after the police raids the location. According to reports, many of the youngsters who were caught in the raid are children of high-ranking Pakistan Army officers and members of the PML-N political party.
As per reports from Pakistan Observer, police raided the farmhouse in Mustafabad after receiving information of loud music, indecent dancing, alcohol consumption and drug use. During the operation, they detained over 50 people, including 30 boys and 25 girls. Many of them are reportedly children of Pakistan Army officers and PML-N politicians.
The raid team, led by Mustafabad SHO Saqlain Bukhari under the orders of District Police Officer (DPO) Essa Khan, seized liquor and sound systems from the farmhouse. A press release from Kasur Police showed blurred images of the arrested individuals and listed the items confiscated during the raid.
However, the situation took a serious turn after a video from the raid went viral on social media. The clip showed police officers filming the detained men and women, allegedly forcing them to face the camera. This caused widespread outrage online, as people criticised the officers for violating the privacy and dignity of those involved.
In response, DPO Kasur launched a detailed investigation into the incident. It was confirmed that two police officers had filmed the detainees unofficially. As a result, both the Station House Officer (SHO) and the Investigating Officer (IO) were suspended.
The police later clarified that the video was not recorded in any official capacity but by individuals during the raid. DPO Essa Khan has assigned the Superintendent of Police (SP) Investigation to carry out a full inquiry into the matter.
Meanwhile, the local court dismissed the case against the detainees and ordered their release, ruling that there was not enough legal ground to keep them in custody.
