Amritsar: On Tuesday, Punjab BJP Chief Sunil Jakhar criticised the Congress and advised Rahul Gandhi, the party leader, to focus on the people in his immediate vicinity rather than lofty ideas. He went on to say that the party leadership has to reflect and rid itself of dishonest people.

Jakhar underlined that while idealism is admirable, one’s social circle really defines them. He also said that Rahul Gandhi’s friends are “personified corruption” and “manifestations of corruption”.

“Rahul Gandhi should focus on himself rather than looking beyond. It is a really positive thing if he thinks he is an idealist, but a person is recognised by his company. The person he sits with is a personification and expression of corruption. What will we do with such principles if he brings these kinds of individuals with him?” Jakhar said.”

Jakhar used a proverb when he remarked, “Kaun kehta hai saubat ka hota nai hai sarr, insan toh kya, deewar badal jate hai,” suggesting that walls may change as well as people, emphasising how a person’s environment shapes their personality.

Speaking on the Congress party’s present situation, Jakhar emphasised that “aadarshwad ke sath yatharthwad bhi hona chahiye” (idealism and pragmatism must coexist) and that if the party leadership really wants to resuscitate, they must examine themselves and rid themselves of corruption.

Jakhar also emphasised how crucial a robust opposition is to a functioning democracy, denouncing the Congress’s present status as ineffective in opposing the governing administration.

He urged Rahul Gandhi to disassociate himself from dishonest members of his own party in order to support the Congress and the democratic opposition in general.

“The Congress party’s leadership should examine themselves if they want to bring the party back to life. Sath yatharthwad bhi hona chahiye aadarshwad ke sath. Rahul Gandhi needs to get rid of these individuals because, in my opinion, a democracy also needs a powerful opposition to the governing centre. “In this case, the opposition is ‘kheru-kheru’ itself,” he said.

Hours after a bomb was reported outside BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia’s home in Jalandhar, Sunil Jakhar also criticised the state’s law and order situation and voiced concerns about security, criticising the AAP administration headed by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

State BJP Chief Sunil Jakhar launched a scathing assault on the Punjab government, accusing Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of abusing police resources. He said that Mann had sent an intelligence team from the Punjab Police to keep an eye on events at the Delhi Congress headquarters.

“Where was this intelligence when a bomb was thrown at BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia’s residence?” Jakhar said, casting doubt on the Punjab government’s readiness.

In Jalandhar, Punjab, there was an explosion outside the home of BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia. According to police, they are keeping an eye on the CCTV footage and looking into whether the incident was a grenade attack or anything else.

Jalandhar Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur told reporters, “We received word of an explosion here at about one in the morning, so we went to the scene and began the inquiry. The situation is being investigated by the forensic team. We’re keeping an eye on the CCTV as well. Whether it is a grenade assault or anything else, the forensic team is looking into it.

“The forensic team will inspect and give the report,” Jalandhar Deputy Commissioner of Police Manpreet Singh informed reporters after confirming the event. The event happened in Manoranjan Kalia’s house.
