The Dhak Dhak girl of Bollywood Madhuri Dixit has been ruling our hearts for the last few decades. But did you know that the initial years of her career weren’t smooth? There were back-to-back flop movies before hits like Dil Beta and Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! One of those flop movies was Shanakht directed by Tinnu Anand. There was a lot of drama on the first day of the shoot of Shanakht. The director recalled in an interview recently that he had an argument with her over her costume. There was a scene where Amitabh Bachchan was fighting with the goons but the hero was attacked by them and to support Amitabh in the movie Dixits character offered herself to the goons. Narrating the incident to Radio Nasha Anand recalled that he narrated the scene to Dixit and she had initially agreed to do it. He mentioned that the scene was the first shot of the film and Amitabh Bachchan was supposed to be captured by the villain. He said Madhuri’s character says why are you attacking a man in chains when a woman is standing in front of you. He recalled asking Madhuri Dixit to come in bra on the set. He said “I had narrated the entire sequence to Madhuri and I told her that you have to remove your blouse and for the first time we should see you in your bra. And I am not going to hide anything behind a haystack or anything. Because you are offering yourself to help a man who is trying to help you. So it is a very important situation and I want to shoot it on the first day. She said okay.” Tinnu Anand said everything was ready and everyone was waiting for Madhuri but she did not show up. When he went to check up on her she expressed her reservations about doing the scene. He recalled “I said ‘I’m sorry you have to do this scene.’ She said ‘No I don’t want to.’ I said ‘Okay pack up say goodbye to the film. I’ll cancel my shoot.” But then Tinnu informed Bachchan about his argument with Madhuri and he calmed both of them. Big B took Dixits side and said Let it be. Why are you arguing with her? If she has an objection…. Later Madhuri’s secretary came in and assured the director that she would eventually agree.
