The new prices of gas cylinders have come into effect today, after which the price of gas cylinders in the country's capital Delhi has increased from Rs 803 to Rs 853. In Kolkata, the price has increased from Rs 829 to Rs 879. Also, the price of gas in Mumbai has increased from Rs 802.50 to Rs 853.50 from today. In Chennai, the price of domestic gas cylinders has increased from Rs 818.50 to Rs 868.50.

Cylinder under the Ujjwala Scheme

After this decision was implemented by the Central Government, the price of common domestic cylinders has increased from 8 April 2025. On the other hand, the price of gas cylinders available under the Ujjwala scheme has also been increased. The Ujjwala Yojana gas cylinder was earlier available for Rs 500. Now you will have to pay Rs 550 to get it filled.

When did the gas prices increase?

The central government had earlier increased the price of domestic gas cylinders in March 2023. Although there was a change in the price of gas cylinders, there was no reduction. When the price of cylinders was increased in the year 2023, the prices had increased from Rs 1053 to Rs 1103. At the same time, before this, from June 1, 2021, to March 1, 2023, the price of domestic gas cylinders had increased 10 times in a row.
