A professional shared her impressive for getting rid of tough hard water stains and soap scum from showers. Hannah, who goes by Your Cleaning Specialist on praised a two-ingredient solution which can do the job effectively.
A bonus to Hannah's solution is that you probably already own the ingredients needed. There's also no need for harsh chemicals. Hannah said: "Would you believe me when I tell you that I used and dish soap for this transformation?
"Yes, you heard that correctly, vinegar and dish soap."
For a better result, Hannah recommended using cleaning vinegar as opposed to regular white vinegar. However, white vinegar is suitable for the cleaning solution too.
She said: "For hard water mineral deposits, I do recommend using grade 0000 super fine steel wool if it is especially stubborn."
You'll need a little bit of patience while the solution sets into the class. Vinegar is a good natural ingredient to use as it contains high levels of acetic acid.
Acetic acid is a strong acid that can stop fungi and other microorganisms growing, so vinegar is therefore antifungal and antibacterial.
The acetic acid will be able to help cut through any grime build up as the vinegar kills any lingering bacteria.
The acidity in the vinegar can also deodorise affected areas, as well as disinfecting them.
Michael Golubev, CEO of Mold Busters, told : "Vinegar is a versatile, eco-friendly, and effective solution for preventing and treating mould in the home. Its natural properties make it a safer alternative to harsh chemicals, suitable for regular use in maintaining a mould-free environment."
Washing up liquid and vinegar works as an effective cleaning agent which can be used on multiple surfaces. Dish soap contains surfactants which can cut through grease and oil stains.
How to remove soap scumIn a bucket combine one cup of vinegar with one fourth of a cup of washing up liquid and one cup of water. Use a non-scratchy sponge to apply the solution to the shower glass.
Or for stubborn stains, apply with a scourer. Make sure you've worked the solution thoroughly.
Leave to sit for 15 to 20 minutes. Once the time is up, make sure to work the solution in once again to "agitate" it.
Wash off with water, and your glass should be crystal clear.
