You may be cheated through such fake calls. The telecom regulator has issued a warning from its official X handle regarding such fake calls and advised users to take precautions.

Actually, these days, in the name of cyber criminals TRAI, people are making fake calls to update KYC and shut down SIM cards. Recently, many such incidents have come to light, which TRAI has made it clear that no such call is made by the telecom regulator. TRAI has no right to shut down the mobile number.

Telecom operators can close the number if not paid the bill. Apart from this, even if the KYC details given by the users to get the number are not found correct, only TSP i.e. Telecom Service Providers can turn off the number of users. TRAI has made it clear in its press release that no such call is made by TRAI, nor has TRAI authearped to do any third party agency. Apart from this, TRAI has also given necessary suggestions to avoid any such fake calls.

TRAI advised mobile users that no such call is made by any agency. If you get such a call, you do not need to panic. You have to report the number from which you have received the call.

Mobile users can report such fake calls by calling the National Cyber ​​Security Helpline No. 1930. Apart from this, such communication can be reported by visiting the official website or app Sanchar Saathi of the Department of Telecommunications. For this, the user will have to go to the option of Chakshu by visiting the communication partner portal or app. After this, users will be able to report such communication.
