Goswami Tulsidas, who composed Ramcharitmanas, was Ayodhya, Kashi and Chitrakoot. Tulsidas used to praise Ram Katha, due to which devotees used to come to listen to them. It is said that a leper devotee, called Ramarasik, came to hear the story every day and went quietly after the story was over. One day, Tulsidas decided to follow the devotee. When all the people left, they grabbed the feet of that devotee and requested them to appear in their true form with reverence. Anjanisut Hanuman appeared on this, the incarnation of Lord Shiva.
Tulsidas was blessed with the philosophy of his presiding deity. With the inspiration of Hanuman ji, he did many immortal compositions, including Hanumanashtak. It is said that the place where Tulsidas ji visited Hanuman ji, there is a Sankatmochan Hanuman temple located today. Hanuman is worshiped as a deity who removes the crisis of his devotees in every era, hence he is called Sankatmochan.
According to Jyotishacharya Pandit Arunesh Kumar Sharma, where Hanuman ji appeared to Tulsidas ji, he was installed in idols on the insistence of Tulsidas ji. Hanuman Ashtak, who is a prayer of 8 lines, makes Hanuman ji aware of his powers. Pleased with this, they overcome all the crises of their devotees. In childhood, Hanuman ji used his powers in child-play, due to which the sage cursed him that he would be forgotten until he was remembered his powers. Even in Ramcharitmanas, Jamwant had reminded Hanuman ji to his powers.
