When Ranbir Kapoor blamed Karan Johar's popular talk show for creating controversies in the film industry: "He is making money out of us'"
Ranbir Kapoor , the ‘Animal’ actor, has been the heartthrob of the film industry for years, but it is no secret that his life has been under the radar, and he has been criticized for a couple of controversial moves. In a viral clip resurfacing on social media, Kapoor humorously blames his dear friend Karan Johar’s talk show, ‘ Koffee With Karan ,’ for getting him severely scrutinized throughout the year after the guests appear on the show.
What happened in the viral clip?In a 2017 episode of AIB Podcast , when the host Tanmay Bhat, asked whether or not the actor is tired of ‘Koffee With Karan,’ Ranbir had a bantering rage in him. He revealed getting in trouble due to the show. Additionally, Kapoor mentioned that he had a plan alongside his ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ co-star, Anuska Sharma, to get the entire film industry together and protest against the show.
The 42-year-old actor expressed, “I am (tired). I was forced this season. I told him, ‘I don’t wanna come. ’ Me and Anushka were actually going to protest and bring the entire film industry together to stop this, because it’s not fair.”
“He is making money out of us; we come, and we get s—ed through the year. You know, it’s not right,” Kapoor added.
Following the response, Bhat curiously asked about the items inside the hamper that the actors get after winning the segments on the show. Ranbir exclaimed, “Nothing. Ghanta you get anything!” “Same iPhone you’re getting,” the ‘Tu Jhooti Main Makkar’ actor added.
When was Ranbir Kapoor last featured in the show?Funnily enough, Ranbir has not appeared on ‘Koffee With Karan’ since his last episode in Season 6 (2016) with Ranveer Singh and strictly denied appearing for the show’s eighth season (and ever). The awkward pairing caused a whirlwind amongst the fans.
