Tien attended Dior’s show at Paris Fashion Week on March 5, shortly after being named the luxury brand’s “Friend of the House.” Dior shared a photo of her at the event on its official Instagram account. However, the image was removed earlier this month amid ongoing controversy surrounding Tien’s alleged false advertising.
In Dec. 2024, Tien partnered with online influencers Pham Quang Linh and Nguyen Thi Thai Hang to promote Kera Supergreens Gummies, a fiber supplement. Tien shared the product on her Facebook page, which boasts over 2.6 million followers, claiming that “a gummy contains a dish’s worth of vegetables,” marketing it as a nutritious snack for both children and adults.
However, a customer later found discrepancies between the product’s advertised and actual ingredients after taking it to the Quality Assurance and Testing Center 2. The test results revealed that the entire 30-gummy box contained only 0.51 grams of fiber, far less than advertised, prompting public backlash. Tien subsequently removed the posts from her Facebook page.
The Ho Chi Minh City Food Safety Department later conducted a product test for Kera Supergreens Gummies at the request of the Ministry of Health’s Food Safety Department. The test confirmed that while the sugar, protein, fat, and energy content matched the product’s official self-declaration, the packaging did not mention fiber content, despite marketing the product as a fiber supplement. Authorities determined that the product was not “counterfeit.”
Following the investigation, Tien, Linh, and Hang were summoned for questioning and admitted to providing misleading information about the product. Linh and Hang were each fined VND140 million (US$5,426) for the misleading advertising, while Tien was fined VND25 million for failing to disclose that her social media posts about the product were sponsored, in violation of advertising regulations.
The Dak Lak Provincial Police announced that Tien has been temporarily banned from leaving Vietnam from March 15 to May 15 as part of the ongoing investigation.
At 26, Tien made history as the first Vietnamese contestant to win the Miss Grand International title.
