Jaipur: The death toll in the hit and run incident that took place late Monday night in Nahargarh area of the capital Jaipur has risen to three. On Tuesday morning, 48-year-old Virendra Singh, a resident of Shastri Nagar, died during treatment. Earlier on Monday, Avadhesh Pareek (35 years), a resident of Laldas Ka Bada and Mamta Kanwar (50 years), a resident of Shastri Nagar, had died. Currently, many people injured in the Jaipur hit and run accident are undergoing treatment in the hospital.
The accused driver Usman Khan has been identified and according to information, he runs an iron factory in Vishwakarma area. The police have taken him into custody. Meanwhile, people have erupted in anger over this incident at Chhoti Chaupad and protests are continuing. Since late night, additional police force has been deployed in the entire area. In view of the protest, there is a heavy police presence at Chhoti Chaupad as well.

Former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan Sachin Pilot reacted to the incident at around 10 am on Tuesday. He wrote on the social media platform X, 'In a heart-wrenching incident that took place late night in Jaipur, an uncontrollable car crushed several people, killing three people. I express my deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and pray to God to give them strength to bear this unbearable grief. I wish the injured a speedy recovery. Strict action should be taken against the culprit so that the victim families can get justice.' Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also expressed grief over this tragic accident. He wrote, "I pray for the peace of the souls of those who lost their lives in this accident and wish to give courage to their families. Also wish for the speedy recovery of the injured."
