There is an important information for domestic stock market investors and traders. There will be no trading between the country's two major stock exchange BSE and NSE on the upcoming Thursday, 10 April 2025. This holiday has been declared on the occasion of Shri Mahavir Jayanti.

According to the 2025 holiday list released on the official websites of NSE and BSE, all the major segments of the stock market, equity derivatives, currency, security, lending and boring (SLB) and Electronic Gold Receits (EGR) will be completely closed on this day. This means that neither a stock will be purchased and sold nor any kind of trading activity will be possible.

There will be a holiday across the country

This holiday will be valid in the whole country and all trading platforms related to BSE and NSE will remain inactive on this day. Investors or traders who were planning some kind of deal on this day will now have to redeem their strategy for April 11, Friday, when the market will again open normally.

It is worth noting that Mahavir Jayanti is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Lord Mahavir Swami, the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism and it is declared as a public holiday in many parts of India. The decision to keep the market closed on this day has also been taken keeping this religious significance in mind.

Keep an eye on stock market leave

Investors are advised to keep an eye on the stock market holiday list and prepare their portfolio or trading plan accordingly. This information is especially necessary for investors who are active in derivatives or short term trading.

Finally, this is a regular holiday and the market will open again from April 11 at normal time. There is no need to panic in such a situation, but plan to do all the work related to trading a day before or after.
