The Tourism Department is working harder to improve Varanasi’s tourism facilities and infrastructure as a result of the city’s steadily increasing visitor numbers. Six development projects totalling Rs 13.78 crore have been approved to upgrade infrastructure at strategic locations.
Seven additional jetties will be built across Varanasi’s ghats under the Chief Minister Tourism Development Participation Scheme; Rs 5 crore has been approved for this project.
Important projects consist of:
– Investing Rs 96 lakh to beautify the Shoolpaneshwar Mahadev Temple complex in Madhapur
– The Thai Wat Temple’s facade lights will be built at a cost of Rs 1.28 crore.
– At a cost of Rs 4.86 crore, Kardameshwar Mahadev Temple will undergo extensive landscaping and infrastructural improvements, including walkways, railings, signs, pond cleaning, and public facilities.
– With a Rs 96 lakh budget, the Gurudham Temple’s visitor amenities will be improved.
– Rs 72 lakh was allotted for the tourism development of Durga Temple in Mustafabad village.
Kashi is still a top destination for tourism development, according to Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh, who also said that earlier initiatives totalling Rs 60 crore had been sanctioned to increase the city’s allure for tourists.
