Five sizable grounds will be created in the JP Ganga Path region to lessen the impact of human activity on Patna’s famous Gandhi Maidan. Concerned authorities and the Urban Development Department have been instructed to find appropriate property for this use.
Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary emphasised the necessity for other locations to Gandhi Maidan in order to assist the city’s fast growth during his assessment of the District Steering Committee under the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Urban growth Scheme.
Chaudhary stressed the need for avoiding duplication in infrastructure projects, including roads and buildings, during the meeting with Patna district top officials and MLAs. He urged for more interdepartmental collaboration, pointing out that it is a waste of time and money to duplicate the same task across many agencies.
In order to guarantee smooth connectivity, Chaudhary directed that any road linkages that are up to 300 metres away from major roads be constructed as part of the Samagra Shahari Vikas Yojana. Additionally, he ordered that roads must have drainage systems built beside them and that foundation stone-laying ceremonies be held only after all project plans have been well laid out.
He suggested that urban local authorities not include projects that MLAs have previously suggested in their plans in order to minimise duplication. During the meeting, Assembly Speaker Nandkishore Yadav and Urban Development Minister Jivesh Kumar also discussed their viewpoints.
