Gujarat Titans (GT) skipper Shubman Gill praised each player’s performance after the team defeated the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Wednesday at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

GT defeated RR by 58 runs thanks to a dominant effort. Following an impressive 82 by Sai Sudharsan, which helped the GT to a commanding 217/6, the bowlers grabbed control and systematically destroyed the Royals’ batting order, dismissing them for 159 in 19.2 overs.

After winning four of their five games, the Gujarat team gained eight points in the league and climbed to the top of the IPL 2025 points standings with this triumph. However, after losing their third game of the season out of five (four points), the Rajasthan Royals dropped to seventh place.

“On the board, it is a respectable total. The first three or four overs weren’t easy. Buttler and Sai batted in a fantastic manner. On any given day of the week, we will accept 220. Then, to complete the task, our fast bowlers were quite clinical. Selecting the man of the match might be a good dilemma for us if you find it challenging. Every member of our staff contributes to the group.

Extremely happy; having bowlers like Rashid makes the captain’s job much easier. In the post-match presentation, Shubman Gill said, “Everyone is very nice to me (on if the senior players bully him).”

Sanju Samson, the captain of RR, won the toss and chose to bowl first against the Gujarat Titans, who were the hosts.

Batting first, the Shubman Gill-led side scored 217/6 in their 20 overs with knocks from Sai Sudarshan (82 runs off 53), Jos Buttler (36 runs from 25 balls) and Shahrukh Khan (36 runs in 20 balls).

For the visitors, two wickets each were snapped by Tushar Deshpande (2/53) & Maheesh Theekshana (2/54) and one wicket each was grabbed by Jofra Archer (1/30) and Sandeep Sharma (1/41) in their respective spells of four overs each.

The Sanju Samson-led team was swept out for 159 in the last over, falling 58 runs short of the objective after pursuing a massive total of 218 runs. Shimron Hetymer (52 runs off 32 balls) and Sanju Samson (41 runs from 28 balls) were the top two scorers for the side.

Prasidh Krishna was the most outstanding player, finishing with remarkable scores of 3/24, even though all of the GT bowlers contributed. Kulwant Khejroliya, Arshad Khan, and Mohammed Siraj each got one wicket, while Rashid Khan and Sai Kishore each took two.
