Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed authorities to carry out an urgent on-ground assessment to determine the extent of the agricultural damage brought on by severe weather, high winds, and lightning on the evening of April 9. He has directed all Tehsildars, SDMs, and District Magistrates to visit the impacted regions, finish the survey right away, and provide their findings to the relevant agencies.
The Chief Minister underlined that within 24 hours of the survey’s conclusion, compensation must be credited to the impacted farmers’ bank accounts. Additionally, he issued a warning that any official discovered to have been careless throughout the relief process would face severe consequences.
CM Yogi also gave the authorities instructions on Thursday morning to make sure that those impacted by the storm, intense rain, and lightning get immediate assistance. District officials have been urged to speed relief operations, swiftly analyse agricultural damage, and provide the government with thorough reports.
The Revenue Department will work with insurance firms to distribute compensation when the survey is finished. Additionally, special emphasis has been paid to how wounded people are treated.
The Chief Minister urged authorities to take immediate action to drain water in the event of waterlogging and emphasised the need of safe storage at all procurement centres and mandis in light of the current wheat procurement.
Additionally, authorities have been instructed by Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi to tour fields and evaluate crop losses in order to determine compensation under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY). Field personnel have been directed by Relief Commissioner Bhanu Chandra Goswami to swiftly submit survey findings to the department site.
Farmers will be entitled for compensation under the relief rules if their crops have sustained more than 33% damage as a result of natural disasters like lightning, floods, or unexpected rains. The Relief Department has also issued a notice, recommending people to avoid going outside during bad weather unless absolutely essential.
