Everytime a Bollywood film is released hopes of the movie making big on the box office always comes around. While some movies rake money some fail on the box office. However today we will discuss about a film which was a never shown in cinemas but it still earned crores. Yes you read that right! While as much as this may sound astonishing this is the truth. The movie which we are talking about left an indeniable mark on the industry. If you are wondering which film we are talking about then let us tell you the movie in discussion is Lal Dupatta Malmal Ka. Released in 1989 Gulshan Kumar had come up with an album consisting of 10 songs. All these songs blew peoples mind and made them go gaga. Before the release of these songs Gulshan decided to make a film based on this. The story of film was based on the songs. The songs in the album which created a stir were Kya Karte The Saajna Tum Humse Lal Dupatta Malmal Ka Sooni Sooni Akhiyon Mein Raqeebon Se Habibon Se. Despite endless efforts this album in the form of a film was never released. However the films album songs were released. The album became a superhit overnight after the release. Soon after the DVD of these songs went viral and within no time the DVDs were out of stock. According to media reports the film proved to be a super hit even without its release. Made with a budget of Rs. 75 lakh this film surprised the makers by earning more than Rs. 2 crore.
