Marriage certificate will not be required

Earlier, if a husband and wife wanted to add their names in the passport, then a long process had to be done for it. And marriage certificate also had to be submitted. In such a situation, when a passport was needed to go out for job or any other reason, the husband and wife had to face trouble. Getting a marriage certificate is still not that common in India.

If we talk about states like UP, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, then even today marriage certificate is not given much importance here, due to which when people here have to add their spouse's name in the passport, they have to face a lot of trouble, but now the Government of India has abolished the requirement of marriage certificate.

Now this document will be required

The Ministry of External Affairs has abolished the requirement of marriage certificate to add the name of your spouse in the passport after marriage. For this, now the self-declaration certificate has been recognized. Now people will get the option of Annexure J.

On which they will be able to upload their wedding photo and joint photo. On which both of them will have joint signatures. So some information will also have to be entered in it. This document will be considered as marriage certificate. On the basis of this, the name of the husband and wife will be added in the passport.
