Through a partnership with the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), the Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs of India (COWE) has been approved as a Business Membership Organisation (BMO) for a nationwide rollout. With a particular emphasis on the manufacturing industry, the project seeks to strengthen women-led MSMEs.
In a BMO agreement with SIDBI, industry associations (BMOs) and SIDBI work together to make it easier for MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) to get loans and other financial services via referral agreements.
Established by an Act of the Indian Parliament, the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) serves as the primary financial institution for the development, financing, and promotion of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) sector. It also coordinates the operations of other institutions involved in related activities. An indigenous organisation of female entrepreneurs, COWE has expanded across India. It is most likely the only Women Entrepreneurs trade organisation with a Hyderabad basis that has spread across India.
Sandhya Reddy, the founder and director of COWE, and Chandramouli, the general manager of SIDBI, signed the contract. The initiative, which would provide market connections, capacity development, and financial access, will start right away in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. In a news release released in the city today, COWE revealed.
“This collaboration demonstrates SIDBI’s dedication to equitable, well-rounded development,” said Prakash Kumar, SIDBI’s Deputy Managing Director.
“This collaboration will unlock new opportunities for women-led enterprises,” said COWE Chairperson Shylaja Reddy.
COWE’s board members Uma Gurkha, Madhu Tyagi, and Chapter Presidents Kalpana Rao participated in the signing, which was attended by Pavan Kumar, Executive Director, TGIIC. Andhra Pradesh’s Geetha Srikanth, Telangana, and CEO Usha Paliath. Phased expansion of the program to additional states is planned.
