MS Dhoni’s team must win at least seven of the last eight games if they were to maintain their hopes of making it to the IPL 2025 playoffs. CSK may place in the top four with 16 points if they are successful in doing so. If CSK wins all eight of their remaining games, they will have a chance to place in the top two.

Notably, regular kipper Ruturaj Gaikwad has been ruled out of the IPL 2025 due to an elbow fracture, meaning Dhoni will continue to manage CSK for the remainder of the season.
