WhatsApp Faces Major Global Outage, Users Across India and US Report Messaging Failures:

A worldwide outage impacted WhatsApp services on Saturday, disrupting services for thousands in both the US and India. The outage was visible on Downdetector that showed consumption of the service began falling around 5:30 PM (IST) on April 12, 2025.

Due to WhatsApp outage issues, users lost access to messages and functionality. By 5:30 PM, Downdetector reported approximately 600 ation reports. This number increased to 2990 by 08:18 PM. Most of the users (almost 88 percent) indicated issues with inability to send messages through the application.

Currently, there are no comments regarding the issues reported by WhatsApp from their officials.

In WhatsApp there is a problem reported worldwide which happened recently. Most users from India, US and some other countries expressed out of confusion worldwide. They posted messages on social media as a way to discuss their frustration σχετικά with with-files of hovered messages, with hundreds of people attempting to find out whether the issue was device specific or a more extensive outage.

Users Update WhatsApp As They Experience An Outage On The App

A WhatsApp user commentated on his status and said “Is WhatsApp down?” his status showed “I have been trying to upload the status but it couldn’t.”

Abdul Khalique commented on X for twitter claiming ”Hey @WhatsApp, is the app down? I’m having trouble sending messages, they just don’t seem to go through. Is anyone else experiencing this?”.

This caused some users to try to fix the problem by restarting their devices, only for others to inform them that the issue was with WhatsApp. “Stop it, please. It’s not you. WhatsApp is down. Facebook and Instagram too,” one electric social media person said.

A lot of users rushed to X for verification, and others who entered WhatsApp were hoping to check if WhatsApp was indeed blocked. User @relatablevijay posted “came here on Twitter to check if WhatsApp is down for you guys or not”.

The interruption came soon after Whatsapp suffered a diferent technical glitch was reported during the use of Online payment for digital payments in India, users of UPI based platforms such as Paytm, PhonePe and Google Pay started facing issues of transaction completion. Later the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) said publicly that they were facing issues and claimed after that that they were working to resolve the situation.

Users are waiting for an official statement from the company as the reason for WhatsApp’s outage is still not known.
