The company aims to protect children from online dangers due to this feature. Meta has said that now users under the age of 16 will have to get the permission of parents to go live. In addition, if any naked picture is found in the direct message, the company will automatically obscure it.
Under the new feature, social media users under the age of 16 will not be able to go live without their parents' permission. In addition, these users will not also be able to disable filters that block inappropriate photos and content in direct messages (DM) without their parents' permission. This new feature is presented during the Teen Safety Forum of Met.
The event was attended by Tara Hopkins and writer and columnist Twinkle Khanna, the Global Public Policy Director of Instagram. Tara Hopkins said, “India is the youngest population in the world.
