The Baisakhi festivities on the West Coast reached new heights as San Diego officially declared April 13 as Amjad Ali Khan Day!

City Council President Pro Tem Kent Lee recognized Khan's remarkable artistic contributions and his significant cultural influence as a world-renowned sarod maestro during this special occasion.

Khan expressed his heartfelt appreciation, saying, “I feel deeply honored and humbled by the recognition from Council President Pro Tem Kent Lee, who proclaimed April 13 as Amjad Ali Khan Day through the city council of San Diego. Each accolade is a blessing for any artist, especially when it comes during their active engagement in the music world.”

At present, Khan is touring the United States alongside his sons, Amaan and Ayaan Ali Bangash.
