Inside Ratan Tata’s Rs 150 Crore bungalow: will Noel Tata move there or Shantanu Naidu get it?

Ratan Tata’s iconic Halekai bungalow is around Rs 150 crore and has become topics of discussion after his passing in October 2024. It was designed by Tata himself with architect Ratan Batliboi. As some of the media reports claimed that Noel Tata Ratan’s half-brother and chairman of Tata Trusts may move in the Halekai sparked the debate. Ratan Tata’s House Halekai meaning ‘by the sea’ in Hawaiian was Ratan Tata’s bungalow to live after retirement in 2012. The 13350-square-foot residence was three storeys and seven functional levels. It has glass windows white ceilings and a staircase with colonial design. Basement: Space for 15 vintage cars. Entertainment Zone: A media room and an infinity pool on the third level. Living Quarters: Bedrooms a library a gym and a pooja room. Sun Deck: A rooftop lounge with stunning views of the Arabian Sea. The home which once was Tata’s house is currently vacant now. Will Noel Tata Move There? Noel Tata is the chairman of Tata Trusts and leader of Trent and Tata International currency live in the luxurious Windmere apartments in Cuffe Parade. According to TOI report Noel may relocate to Halekai but the same report citing some other sources claimed that he may not move there.  The property is owned by Ewart Investments a subsidiary of Tata Sons meaning decisions regarding the same can be taken by the holding company rather than inheritance. The future of Halekai remains uncertain. Will it become Noel Tata’s residence or perhaps a memorial is not yet disclosed. Other Tata family homes like The Cairn on Altamount Road are also vacant. Ratan Tata’s Personal Asset Ratan Tata’s net worth reportedly was Rs 3800 crore. His close aide Shantanu Naidu may inherit part of his assets as per Tata’s Will claimed by some media reports. However it mentioned vintage cars or other memorabilia and nothing about his bungalow.
