FNG Expressway Status Update: On Sunday, representatives of the Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority and the Noida authority said that they had reached an agreement to finish the Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad (FNG) expressway. According to the authorities, the state governments of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana would work together to finance the building of the much-anticipated project. By drastically reducing travel time, the FNG expressway is probably going to be a huge comfort for the people living in these states.

According to the authorities, the two states would split the 600-meter bridge’s construction costs evenly. The bridge will span the Yamuna River close to Noida’s Mangroli hamlet. The Yamuna River bridge is very important since it will connect the expressway to Faridabad, which will benefit the city’s citizens.

Although the Haryana agency will build the bridge, the Noida authority will pay half of the overall cost. The authorities also promised that building would start as soon as the project’s estimates were finalized, and that the specifics would probably be made public by the end of the year.

The Hindustan Times cited Vijay Rawal, chief general manager of the Noida authority, as stating, “We have received an official letter from the Faridabad government body that they are ready to share the project cost.” Because it would save travel time by up to 40 minutes, he said, “this project will greatly benefit not only Ghaziabad or Noida but also Faridabad.”

In 1989, the FNG highway was designed to enable drivers to avoid the national capital and alleviate traffic on Delhi’s roadways. However, since state governments have not coordinated, the project has not advanced much over the last almost three decades. According to the authorities, the delay was caused by the Haryana and Uttar Pradesh governments’ disagreements on a number of subjects.
